Conference Rooms


A Conference Room is a single extension number that users can dial to talk to each other in a conference call.  Once a conference is created it is available as a destination on the phone system that calls can be routed to.  Below are some of the common options you may want to use for a conference.
Navigate to Core Configuration > Conferences
  • Click on the + Add Conference button
  • Conference Number - Enter the extension number to use to dial the conference room
  • Conference Name - Enter a name for the conference 
  • User / Admin Pins - Enter a pin number for a User or an Admin
    • Using a an Admin pin allows the leader wait option to be used by identifying the leader/admin
  • Join Message - Add a System Recording to play a message before routing the caller to the conference call
  • Leader Wait - Wait until the conference leader/admin enters before allowing others into the conference
  • Leader Leave - Remove all callers from the conference when the leader/admin leaves the call
  • Talker Optimization - will treat those not talking as being muted to help with background noise
  • Music on Hold - choose whether to play music on hold when a caller is waiting to enter the conference or has only one caller
    • Music on Hold Class - Choose the Music on hold to use when it is enabled
  • Allow Menu - when set to yes an admin or user can press * to mute, unmute, change the volume of the conference, or leave the conference
  • Maximum Participants - set a maximum of callers that can be in the conference  call
