Call Recording


Overview

A call recording button allows you to trigger an on-demand call recording for your in-progress call.  
Note: You will want to review FreePBX®'s Documentation on Call Recording, to ensure you understand recording priorities and overrides.

Enabling On-Demand Recording of an Extension

  1. Under Applications --> Extensions
    1. Select the extension your want to enable "On Demand Recordings" for
    2. Navigate to the Advanced Tab
    3. Under the Recording Options section set "On Demand Recording" to Enable.

Setting up Call Recording Button on Your Phone via ClearlyIP Devices Module

  1. Go Into Settings --> ClearlyIP Devices 
    1. Select your Phone's Model from the Left Side Menu
      01-CustomConfig-Menu
    2. Select the "Line Keys" or an "Expansion Module" tab
    3. On your selected button, Set Function as DTMF
    4. Set Label as "Record"
    5. Set Value as *1

  1. Navigate to the User Control Panel and Login

  2. On the ClearIP Device Management widget select the Config icon

  3. Select the "Line Keys" or an "Expansion Module" tab
  4. On your selected button, Set Function as DTMF
  5. Set Label as "Record"
  6. Set Value as *1

  7. Click the Save and Update button at the Bottom Right

Using the Call Recording Button 

  • During an active call press your Record button, to toggle recording on and off. 
    Note: By default you will hear a Single Beep when recording is enable and a Double Beep when it is disabled.

Using the Feature code

  • If you don't wish to configure a Softkey on your phone for recording you can use the feature code directly by dialing *1 (By default, check Admin --> Feature Codes to verify your settings.) during an active call.
